Six Bricks Academy

How many learning possibilities can Six Bricks unlock?

From teacher professional training and corporate workshops to children’s classrooms and youth group activities, the same tool can be used with different audiences to create activities of varying depth through Six Bricks®. It can inspire entirely different ways of thinking and lead to very different outcomes. The value of Six Bricks® lies not simply in “having many ways to play,” but in helping us adapt activities according to participants and learning goals—so that people are willing to engage, make discoveries through experience, and connect those discoveries to their own lives, classrooms, or workplaces.

Simple tools do not mean limited learning.

This has always been the focus of Six Bricks Academy: not only teaching you how to play, but showing you how to design “play” as “learning.”

What is Six Bricks®?

Six Bricks® is a learning-through-play practical tool developed by the South African educational organization Care for Education, with support from the LEGO Foundation. Using six LEGO DUPLO bricks in different colors as its foundation, it creates opportunities for hands-on participation, learning, thinking, and communication through activities involving building, observation, memory, expression, and collaboration.

Simple materials do not mean limited applications. The same basic activity can be developed into very different learning experiences by changing the rules, tasks, interaction methods, and guiding questions. At Six Bricks Academy, you will learn not only the steps of each activity, but also gradually understand: How can an activity be adapted? Why is it designed this way? And how can it be applied within your own professional field?

Why Learn with us?

Our facilitators have extensive practical experience spanning teacher professional development, corporate training, early childhood education, youth programs, and senior activities. Our focus is not only on whether an activity can be completed, but also on how different participants enter into the activity, how they interact, and how they move from experience to reflection and internalization.

By the end of 2025, we had:

  • taught more than 700 certification course participants

  • trained over 1,000 teachers

  • conducted more than 150 corporate professional workshops

  • delivered more than 100 international certification courses

  • provided related courses or training for more than 50 schools

These experiences are brought into the classroom not to showcase the number of activities, but to help you see how the same tool can be adapted for different audiences and objectives.

You may be a facilitator, trainer, coach, teacher, or social worker—or someone responsible for internal learning and development within an organization.

This course will not simply tell you that “this activity is suitable for children,” or that “that activity can only be used for team building.” Instead, it will guide you to start from the process itself, think about the possible variations within it, and then connect those possibilities to your own audience and professional focus.

We do not limit your application of Six Bricks® to a single industry. Nor do we focus only on the in-class experience—we also emphasize how you can apply what you learn after the course.

Six Bricks® Certification Courses

rom understanding the core methods, to practicing facilitation, to designing activities, the course is designed to help you gradually build your own judgment—rather than simply repeating the trainer’s steps once.

Taking activities away with you is important; knowing when to use them, why to use them, and how to adapt them is equally important.

Levels 1 and 2 build a strong foundation for application, while advanced levels develop your capacity for systematic design. The goal is not to repeatedly learn more activities, but to progressively understand how to design learning itself.

We begin with direct participation. Through individual, pair, and team activities, we guide you to understand the core processes of Six Bricks®, practice facilitation methods, explore the possibilities for adapting activities, and connect what you learn to your own teaching, training, or service context.

Once you know how to facilitate activities, the next step is not simply learning more ways to play, but learning how to answer this question:

“For this objective, and for this group of participants, how should I design the learning experience?”
